What's a fair software engineer salary in Ethiopia in 2026?

I have 4 years of full-stack experience (TypeScript, React, Node). Interviewing with a couple of local companies and a remote foreign employer. What's a reasonable range at this level? Any negotiation tips specific to the local market?

    Remote roles pay in a completely different band — negotiate them separately and never anchor on your local salary. For local offers, ask about transport allowance and the 13th month; they add up.

    Ask peers at the company directly. People are more open about pay than you'd expect if you ask privately.
